About Me

My name is Mike I am a Husband, father, pilot and a flight dispatcher for a major legacy airline based in the United States.

  • Husband – I have been married to my wife since January 2006.  She is a constant support to me and she runs our household while raising and teaching our children.
  • Father – I have three children (2 boys and a girl) and they keep us on our toes and it is my goal that they get to experience as much as they can before they grow up and move out of the house.
  • Pilot – I started flying when I was very young via Microsoft Flight Simulator.  I took an actual introductory flight in 2001 and I was hooked on flying since then.  I have a single engine land commercial certificate but I have not actually flown since 2006.  In 2016 I decided it was time to get back into flying and I got my medical and I bought a share of a 1963 Beechcraft Musketeer.  While its the the fastest plane or even IFR certified I really enjoy taking the plane on trips or even just taking my kids for a ride.
  • Flight dispatcher – A flight dispatcher plans all of the flights for an airline an creates a document that tells the flight crew the route of flight, the fuel required and the weather and turbulence that they can expect for the flight.  Dispatchers are also the flights crews first point of contact if there are any problems.  Dispatchers also communicate with the pilots while the flight is en-route updating them if any of the conditions to have changed.  A dispatcher shares 50 percent of the operational control with the captain of the flight.
